Archaeology Notes

NO42SW 20 centred 4205 2347 and 4200 2349.

A series of ten sub-circular marks and crescents, all possibly round houses with diameters ranging between 4m and 11m scattered across four fields have been recorded by aerial photography immediately N of North Straiton farmsteading. Cropmarks of ice-wedges are also visible across these fields. An unenclosed settlement, pit-alignment and ring-ditches have all been revealed by cropmarks in the surrounding fields (NO42SW 37, NO42SW 73, NO42SW 22 respectively).
