Archaeology Notes

NG51SE 4 5970 1200.

'On a knoll 100m to the E of Dun Scaich Castle (NG51SE 1), lies an odd construction measuring 7m NW-SE and 5m transversely. An entrance to the site lies in the SE and is 1.2m wide, a bank of rubble encompasses the knoll in the E, standing stones lie on the top of the knoll, all of which are upright.' (Grid reference given by Nicolson falls some 200m SE of the castle, 1000m E of castle gives NG 6052 1207.)
