The Falkirk drill hall is marked on the 3rd edition OS 1:2500 map. It was built in 1898-9 as a volunteer drill hall by A & W Black. The front block is of two storeys and six bays with a central pediment. The crest of the 4th Volunteer Battalion of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders is inscribed in the tympanum. There is a large utilitarian hall behind.
In 1914 the hall was the base for "C" Company, 7th battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.
The building survives and is in use as a school of gymnastics.
