World War One Audit of Surviving Remains (18 June 2013)

A large complex drill hall is shown on the 3rd epoch OS 1:2500 map, to north of the railway line. The complex is mapped as three long buildings linked along their southern ends by a fourth. The building has since been demolished and replaced by housing; apparently it survived to be marked on a 1970s street map. In 1914-18 the drill hall was the drill station for F Squadron, 2nd Scottish Horse and G Company of the 6th Gordon Highlanders.

Information from HS/RCAHMS World War One Audit Project (GJB) 18 June 2013.
