Dovecot: "In a park behind the steading of North Callange there is a circular tower, probably an old windmill, which has been fitted with stone nests. It is about 30ft high, internal diameter 9 3/4ft, and the wall is 3 1/4ft thick."

The building has walls of rubble masonry, tapering towards the top, and is now roofless.

This building was taken down three years ago and only a heap of rubble and fragment of wall about 1m high on the N remains.

Field Visit (9 May 1928)

Dovecot, North Callange.

In a park behind the steading of North Callange there is a circular tower, probably an old windmill, which has been fitted with stone nests. It is some 30 feet high, and the internal diameter is 9 ¾ feet, the wall being 3 ¼ feet thick.
