(NO 3932 5206) Logie House is a tall plain 16th century tower-house, which was much altered in the 18th century. It is oblong on plan with a circular stair-tower projecting at the NE angle, now truncated and finishing with a flat oversailing roof. Much modern work has been added to the N, and built into a yard wall here is a former dormer pediment dated 1688. The main tower has been extended W also in the 18th century, and the W gable has a window lintel dated 1022, presumably a mistaken re-cutting. The walling throughout is harled and without decoration. There is a shot-hole at third floor level in the stair-tower.
Logie used to belong to a branch of the Wishart family, the estate being called Logie-Wishart. Later the lands passed to the Kinlochs of Kilrie.
N Tranter 1962-70.
