Activities

Archaeological Evaluation (12 September 2011 - 20 September 2011)

NT 26260 65080 An evaluation was carried out 12–20 September 2011 in advance of a residential development on land N of Seafield Road. A desk-based assessment undertaken in 2009 had indicated that a cist, a nonconformist meeting house and two buildings may have been present within the area. Trial trenching identified numerous field drains and a few vestigial traces of rig and furrow cultivation, but did not identify any features, deposits or finds of archaeological significance.
