Watching Brief (20 June 2012 - 8 September 2012)
This report presents the results of an archaeologically monitored topsoil strip and watching brief in relation to the construction of a residential development next to Inveravon Terrace, Musselburgh, East Lothian. The monitored topsoil strip was undertaken on the most eastern end of the building footprint, close to a waster pit found in an earlier evaluation. The watching brief was undertaken on the remainder of the building footprint and all other ground breaking works within a predetermined area. Two ditch terminals of possible prehistoric or Roman field boundaries and a large pit of a similar date were revealed during the archaeological works. No further archaeological work is required.
