World War One Audit of Surviving Remains (25 June 2013)

The Coupar Angus drill hall was at the corner of Causeway End and Laing Cresent. Built before 1914 it was a long, narrow block with a house at one end and the three-bay hall at the other, with a door at the end. In 1914 it the base for "C" Squadron, 1st Scottish Horse and drill station for "E" Company, 6th battalion Black Watch.

Project (March 2013 - September 2013)

A project to characterise the quantity and quality of the Scottish resource of known surviving remains of the First World War. Carried out in partnership between Historic Scotland and RCAHMS.
