Note

This building is depicted and named 'Thread Mill' on the Ordnance Survey 2nd edition 25-inch map (Renfrew, 1898, sheet XII.2), but does not appear on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 25-inch map (Renfrew, 1864, sheet XII.2). This building was also used by the Arrol-Johnston Ltd car manufacturers prior to their move to a purpose built factory in Dumfries in 1912/13 and is depicted and named 'Motor Works' on the Ordnance Survey 3rd edition 25-inch map (Renfrew, 1913, sheet XII.2).

Hume notes that it was a wool store by 1976 and refers to it as 'Underwood Mill', although Underwood Mill on Underwood Road should be regarded as a separate site (NS46SE 63).

These buildings have been demolished.

J R Hume, 1976; A Dodds, 1996
