OS 6"map, (1959)

The present Moonzie parish church is of uncertain date, but was renovated in the 18th, and altered in the 19th, centuries. It was granted to the hospital of Loch Leven about 1214, thereafter passing with that hospital to Scotlandwell in 1250-1. It was re-dedicated to the Holy Trinity in 1245 but no regular minister was appointed until 1608, the services up to that date being conducted by readers.

SDD 1960-; I B Cowan 1967; A H Millar 1895.

Moonzie Church is a simple rectangular building, 6.0m by 17.0m with crow-stepped gables, slate roof, and a harled exterior. A small porch has been built against the S wall. Its windows are rectangular, and the walls, 0.8m thick, have been plastered on the interior. There are no dateable architectural features either inside or outside the church, which is in good repair and in use.
