Activities

Field Visit (2010)

This dam provides a catchment downstream of the needle valve outlet from Bad Na Scalaig Dam to divert water into the penstocks which run down to the powerhouse. The dam has a fixed spillway with agitators to the right of the inlet to the penstocks which is covered by a trash screen with later automatic cleaning device. Downstream of the dam on the penstock there is a pressure operated valve to protect both penstock and machines from any sudden changes in water pressure. This is a standard feature for its type.
