Lochalsh Dam

This relatively small dam provides storage and a degree of flow regulation for the Nostie Bridge power house. The dam is of mass gravity type with the walkway borne over a fixed spillway on a continuous arcade of shouldered arches. Water leaves the dam via a steel pipeway which conducts it downhill to Nostie bridge power station (see separate item). This is a relatively small dam with a predominantly functional design.
