Field Visit (2010)
This relatively small dam provides storage and a degree of flow regulation for the Nostie Bridge power house. The dam is of mass gravity type with the walkway borne over a fixed spillway on a continuous arcade of shouldered arches. Water leaves the dam via a steel pipeway which conducts it downhill to Nostie bridge power station (see separate item). This is a relatively small dam with a predominantly functional design. Some architectural interest is added by the continuous arcade of arches which carries the walkway. PL Payne, 1988, 5; E Wood, 2002, 38; J Miller, 2002.
