Field Visit (2010)

Nant intake tower is the point at which water is taken out of the Loch and enters the tunnel taking it through to Nant power station which is located underground beneath the intake (see separate item). The intake gatehouse houses two roller gates to control water flowing through Nant power station. The intake is of relatively standard design with features such as trash screens and an oversailing walkway common to this feature. PL Payne, 1988, 5; E Wood, 2002, 38; J Miller, 2002.
