Field Visit (21 May 2011)

This milestone stands on the SW verge of the A944 public road 230m WNW of the Colquhonnie Hotel. It is a round-headed circular pillar about 0.6m high, the top of which is facetted, bearing the incised number '44', an indication of the distance in miles to Aberdeen. The stone has been painted white, though this is now very faded, and the number has been highlighted in black.

Visited by RCAHMS (JRS), 21 May 2011.
