Substantial longhouse, L shape in plan, 10m by 2.5m, footings up to 0.5m high, on a S facing slope at an altitude of 400m. An enclosure lies 100m to the SW of the house. The site covers an area of 1.3ha.

(Location cited as NO 2623 9630). Knock of Lawsie. Air photography (NO29SE 1976 2649136 and AAS/79/1/S2/19) has recorded a longhouse and rig in an area of rough grazing, scrub and moorland at an altitude of 400m OD. The longhouse is of substantial L-plan form and measures about 10 by 2.5m; the footing are up to 0.5m high and there is low rig in the field to the SW. The modern farmer of the area lives at Crathienaird.

The monument is indicated on Roy's Military Survey.
