Archaeology Notes

NS32NE 124 35257 29457

This enclosure, roundhouse and rig and furrow have been recorded as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP 2011). The remains of an enclosure (35251 29480) is curvilinear in plan and defined by a ditch about 1.4m wide bu much of it is is missing in the N. The roundhouse (35265 29432) is circular in plan and about 5.4m in diameter.

There are four blocks of rig in the area, generally orientated E-W , with a 5m spacing between furrows.

A series of modern drains criss-cross the area to the east of the site.
