Archaeological Evaluation (11 June 2019)
NO 22388 43058 Five trial trenches representing a 7% sample of the site of a proposed new agricultural shed were opened by mechanical excavator, on 11 June 2019. This was done to investigate sets of cropmarks that may have been associated with a group of scheduled cropmarks to the north-east (associated with the medieval monastic grange). All features recovered proved to be of Victorian or Early Modern date and associated with former agricultural activities on the farm.
