Visual examination and measurement of site.
Both the first (1875) and second (1897) OS 6-inch maps show the presence of an enclosure here. A line of terracing along the adjacent hillside measuring about 35 metres and a lynchet at right angle to it measuring about 20 metres can still be made out. Until about six years ago an apple tree stood here which sixty yers before was always referred to as the "Old Apple Tree." The fruit was very sour! This enclosure was probably tended by the inhabitants of the cottage at the base of Rudha Beag which is nearby.
