Field Visit (16 June 2010)
This kale yard, which is situated about 90m SE of Greenton, was in use until about 2005. Roughly square on plan but with the SW corner angled to avoid a large rock outcrop, it measures about 14m from NE to SW by 13m transversely over a rubble drystone wall up to 1.4m in height. The soil level in the interior, especially on the NW side, is appreciably higher than that outside.
