NO24NE 40 2943 4893.
Scheduled: classified as ring-ditch and location indicated at NO 2944 4892.
Information from Historic Scotland; scheduling document dated 16 January 1996.
This possible round barrow is located on a low rise in the field to the N of Milton of Ruthven farmhouse (NO24NE 90) overlooking the River Isla to the SW. The cropmarks of a circular ditch with no entrance measuring about 9m in diameter is visible on all photographs, but some images (RCAHMSAP 1977 and 1993) also indicate a small central pit, that could represent a burial pit. A larger cropmark suggests an elongate pit feature within the N perimeter of the possible barrow ditch. To the S are irregular cropmarks that probably represent geology, although at least one circular feature resembles a pit-defined circle of similar dimensions to the possible barrow (RCAHMSAP 2004). A cropmark complex is visible to the W (NO24NE 100) in the same field.
