The church of Kettins had six chapels depending on it; one was at the village of Peattie.
OSA 1796
The place where this chapel is supposed to have stood is marked by a conspicuous mound, nearly 1/4 mile E of the village of Peattie. There is no tradition about it.
Name Book 1860
At this site, situated on an extensive level plain, is a large, prominent mound of earth and stones, but from the number of stones lying on and about it, it seems to be mainly constructed of stones. It is conical, without a flat summit, making it impossible for a building ever to have been built on it. This would appear to be a round cairn; it is 28.0m in diameter and 3.0m high. A fence and tree-line run over it. There is no trace of a surrounding ditch or kerb stones. Local enquiries produced no further information other than the tradition.

Mill of Peattie, cairn 500m SE of. The monument comprises a burial cairn of prehistoric date, visible as a tree-covered mound. It lies in arable farmland, on the boundary between two fields, at around 95m OD. It consists of a conical mound of stone and earth, measuring about 25m in diameter and about 3.5m in height. It forms a prominent feature within the modern landscape.

Field Visit (4 April 1989)
This conical, tree-covered cairn is situated some 490m NNE of Peattie steading and measures 25m in diameter by about 3.5m in height. The cairn is crossed by a fence-line and, apparently, is otherwise undisturbed; it was previously identified as the site of a chapel (NO23NW 63). Visited by RCAHMS (JRS) 4 April 1989.
