Field Visit (30 October 2008 - 4 November 2008)

NN 48 28 (centred on) A walkover survey of nine areas, in a valley enclosed with deer fencing, was carried out

30 October–4 November 2008, in advance of a programme of tree planting. Four groups of shielings were discovered and marked out with wooden stakes and red and white marker tape. Two further groups of shielings that are denoted on an OS map were also marked out.
