Murie House is now roofless and being demolished. From a photograph it appears to have been a house of the late Georgian period, and of considerable size, having been enlarged at one time. The stable and offices, with a tower, stood a little to the north. When these were demolished in the 1930's a stone dated 1778 was found on top of the tower, confirming the date of the house.

A little to the north of the house may be seen the remnants of an old marl pit and the mouth of an underground passage which led inside the house.
