St John's Parish Church dates from 1976, designed by Marcus MacDonald Johnston of Shearer & Annand. The modern building replaced an earlier church on the site, dating from 1907, which was badly damaged by a fire in July 1975. The congregations of St John's Parish Church and the nearby St Andrew's Parish Church merged in 2010 and the new united congregation worship in the former St John's building, now renamed Bennochy Parish Church.
