Archaeology Notes

NO22NE 9 2816 2923

These enclosures may be timber long houses. There are other, similar cropmarks slightly to the south in association with possible grubenhauser (see NO22NE 17).

Indistinct cropmarks have revealed a complex feature which may be the remains of at least one rectangular timber building. The principal feature that can be distinguished measures about 23m by 8m, but there are traces of what are either small enclosures or fragments of other buildings clustered around it.

Information from RCAHMS (SH) 16 November 1993.
