The course of the Berwickshire Railway has been identified from oblique aerial views taken in April 2010 (RCAHMSAP 2010), immediately to the S of the Marchmont House Estate (NT74NW 20.00). The cuttings and embankments are shown on the current OS digital maps, particularly alongside the Howe Burn.
The railway finally closed to freight traffic in 1965.
