A large two storey house situated on the S side of the B 7026 road immediately E of the Wester Auchendinny Bridge (NT26SE 96). The house has a 'M-shaped' multi-pitched roof with gabled bay windows to the front elevation and later additions.. An abandoned railway tunnel runs under the garden.
Possibly for the Dalmore Paper Mill (NT26SE 65) owner or manager.
The house is not depicted on the 1st Edition of the OS 6-inch map (Edinburghshire), 1854), but is on the 1st Edition of the OS 25-inch map and on all subsequent 25-inch editions along with the now demolished Dalmore Paper Mill.
