The mill of Auchtermuchty is mentioned (November 1293) in a rental account by Walter of Camblou as belonging to Duncan, Earl of Fife.

Publication Account (1981)

A mill at Auchtermuchty was apparently mentioned in a 1293 rental of the Earls of Fife in 1293, and by the end of the eighteenth century, exploiting the power of the Glassart Burn, there was a flour ill, a corn mill, and two lint mills (OSA, 1793, vi, 345).
