Field Visit (11 May 2008 - 11 May 2008)

Shieling group (Nosas Site Survey Nos 663 - 666) centred on NH 1730 4907 which comprises 2 pairs of shielings situated on a relatively dry grassy SE facing slope on the E bank of the Allt na Criche at an altitude of 260m. The remains of the 4 shieling mounds at NH 17394 49096, NH 17375 49090, NH 17252 49052 and NH 17206 49054 were clearly identified but there may well be others in the vicinity. The largest mound measured some 5m x 3m overall.
