Burnside Station is situated on the S side of Highburgh Drive and W of the Hawthorn Walk overbridge. Island platform with shelter.

Built by the Caledonian Railway Company for the Lanarkshire and Ayrshire Outer Suburban extension and opened in May 1903.. The station first appears on the Revision or 3rd Edition of the OS 25-inch map (Lanarkshire, c.1920) and is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd Editions reflecting the late opening date.
