The farmstead of Ingleston (1st Edition OS 6-inch map (Renfrewshire, 1863, sheet vii or Ingliston (Revision Edition and current OS digital maps), is situated in the NE section of the Royal Ordnance Factory (NS47SW 149.00). All that survives is the stable block (NS 43007 71134) and the 1903 farmhouse (42995 71152). The farmhouse is constructed of glazed red brick and replaced an earlier building depicted as roofed on the 1st Edition OS map. The stable block is built in stone with a slated roof. This latter building is not shown on the 1st Edition map, though a similar building on the same site, orientated NW to SE is shown as roofed.
The farmhouse has a datestone of'19DC03' above the door. The building was used as offices by the Royal Ordnance Factory and the stables as a store. The house is now in a very delapidated state with many of the wooden floors collapsing and in a dangerous condition. The stable block is also fairly ruinous though retaining its slated roof.
The Object Name Book of the Ordnance Survey (ONB) descirbes the farm and cottages as 'A farm house having offices and land attached the property of M R Aytoun' and 'A row of dwelling houses in good repair. The property of Lord Blantyre'
