The map sheet and quasi-administrative area assigned to this record are essentially tentative. The vessel evidently stranded on the N side of the river, which has no continuous training wall or dyke. Dunglass is not noted as such on the 1998 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map, but Dunglass Castle (NS47SW 7.00) is at NS 43745 73537.
