Activities

Field Visit (4 July 2001)

At the S end of a shell beach immediately W of the fort on Rubha na Crannaig there is a small drystone pier. L-shaped on plan, it measures 15m from E to W, with an arm extending N for 7m from its W end. It was constructed in the late 19th century by a Mr MacFarlane, the tenant of Kildonnan, who maintained a profitable business exporting potatoes to the mainland.
