The house and offices of Abbeyside are depicted as roofed on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Elginshire 1873, sheet vi) and is situated immediately SW of the officers' quarters of Kinloss Park within RAF Kinloss.

The Object Name Book of the Ordnance Survey describes the buildings as ' A good slated house two stories high with office houses and labourers cottage attached. They are occupied by farm servants and rented by Mr McKissock of Kinloss.

They are the property of the Heirs of the late Colonel Ferguson' (Name Book 1870).

The house and cottage were requisitioned by the War Office or Ministry of Defence for RAF Kinloss.
