Architecture Notes

NT24NE 10.01 centred 25068 48958

The walled garden is situated about 128m N of the house (NT24NE 10.00). A series of glasshouses along the N wall along with several huts. The garden is presently laid out in a formal style similar to that depicted on the 1st Edition of the OS 6-inch map (Peeblesshire, 1853). The OS 25-inch maps show a 'fountain' and 'rain gauge' in the walled garden on the 2nd and Revision Editions respectively.
