Field Visit (6 July 2001)
Two hut-circles and at least two shieling-huts are situated on a N-facing slope about 500m NW of Sliabh Beinn Tighe. The hut-circles stand about 25m apart. The more westerly (EIGG01 444), which measures 5m in diameter within a wall reduced to a spread stony bank 1.5m thick and 0.4m high has an entrance on the E. Its SW quadrant is overlain by a shieling-hut with two cells, the larger of which measures 1.5m from ENE to WNW by 1m transversely. The second hut-circle (EIGG01 445) is oval on plan and measures 4.5m from E to W by 3.7m transversely, within a spread bank 1.9m thick and up to 0.8m high. A second shieling hut (EIGG01 446), situated about 110m NE (NM 45060 87768), measures 2.7m from NE to SW by 2.1m transversely within stone-faced banks 1m thick and up to 0.4m high. There is a possible entrance on the SW. It has been set into a mound that may possibly be the remnants of a third hut, while traces of what may be another hut are situated about 10m W of the second hut-circle.
