Archaeology Notes

NO20NE 35 27142 08549

At least five 'buildings' averaging 25m by 9m in size have been recorded from the air. Some of the structures display a feature which may make a Dark Age, rather than an earlier date more likely, namely, the presence at one end of the building of an annex recalling similar elements in Early Historic structures at Doon Hill, near Dunbar, and Yeavering, Milfield and Sprouston in Northumberland and Roxburgh.

G S Maxwell 1987.
