Archaeology Notes

NO19SW 3 c. 14 90.

A chapel 'Tamintoul', in Braemar, is mentioned as extant about 1732. Erskine quotes this as 'Att Tom-na-taul' and places it at Tomintoul 'well up on the north side of the hill of Murrone (or Morven: NO 1388 ) and now thought to be the highest cultivated land in Britain.'

J Stirton 1925; A Keith 1732; S Erskine 1898.
