NS96SW 63.01 centred NS 91870 60527 Coal Mine

The remains of Braehead Colliery, Pit No.1 have been identified on oblique aerial views situated on the SW side of the Fauldhouse Hills. Visible on the air photographs are the spoil heaps of the mines.

Braehead Colliery Pits Nos. 1 and 2 are first depicted on the Revision Edition of the OS 6-inch map (Linlithgowshire, 1921, sheet xiii), both of which are connected to the main railway system by mineral railways and a tramway.
