(Location cited as 596 253 to 491 253) Curlingstone Mill, Haugh Farm: Lade originaly served a woollen mill (now demolished) which made snuff boxes and curling stones from Ailsa Craig granite 'from about 1780'. The lade is tunnelled through sandstone for part of its length.

Grampian Speleologicall Group 2008.

A 'woollen mill' (NS42NE 75) and 'mill lead' (are depicted on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey 6-inch map (Ayrshire, 1866). The lade appears to run from NS 4992 2530 to NS 5005 2533 through a tunnel, and from NS 5005 2533 to NS 5022 2538 above ground.
