Situated about 15m WNW of the westernmost stone-walled enclosure of a farmstead (NO16SW 3) there is a rubble-walled enclosure. It is roughly oval on plan and measures 18m from WNW to ESE by 17m within a low turf-covered stony bank about 1.6m thick and up to 0.5m high on the E where there is a probable entrance gap. Within the W side of the enclosure there are the possible remains of a hut stance measuring some 7m in diameter. The enclosure is certainly earlier in date than the adjacent farmstead which was abandoned by 1867, and it is probably roughly contemporary with the field-system and long buildings which lie immediately to the W.
