Archaeology Notes

NT67NE 530 6607 7714

NT 6607 7714 The stripping of topsoil from the footprint of a proposed new kennels building was monitored. The site lies in close proximity to the W end of a probable prehistoric pit alignment, but the only features revealed by the soil strip were of modern origin. They comprised the terminal of a probable drain, three stone holes, and two plough scars. The pit alignment probably lies a short distance to the S of the proposed building footprint.
