Field Visit (27 October 1987)

NO16NW 52 129 675.

In unimproved and broken ground to the NW of Dalhenzean Lodge there are the remains of at least three buildings.

A. NO 1291 6764 A rectangular building (14.6m from NNW to SSE by 4.7m transversely over turf-covered stone wall-footings 1.1m thick) with a yard on its W side (15m by 6.2m internally).

B. NO 1290 6759 A two-compartment rectangular building (13.5m from NW to SE by 3.9m transversely over stone walls 0.8m thick and 0.7m high). It has a drainage-trench on the E and at the SW angle a small pen (1.4m square internally).

C. NO 1290 6756 A well-proportioned, two-compartment rectangular building, which has been partly robbed, measuring 16.9m from E to W by 6.5m transversely over turf-covered stone wall-footings 0.7m in thickness. It has a drainage-trench on the N. (This was formerly NO16NW 53)
