Architecture Notes

NS57SW 282 5127 7142

Nos 4 - 12 (Even nos) Fettercairn Avenue was built 1953-4 and demolished c1998. The block consisted of five adjoining tenements, each containing eight flats over four-storeys (except no 4 with four flats, one per storey). As of 2007 the site remained undeveloped, but low-rise housing similar to other recent developments in the area is likely.

Information from RCAHMS (MH, ITMP), May 1980 and February 2008.

When built the numbering sequence of Fettercairn Avenue, and neighbouring streets was not continuous, with a gap of one number between each block, presumably to allow for potential future development. For neighbouring blocks see NS57SW 281 (16, 18, 20, 22, 24 Fettercairn Avenue) and NS57SW 284 (50 Inchfad Drive).
