This farmstead lies in broken ground to the W of Dalhenzean Lodge and consists of at least four buildings, three of which are set at right angles to one another.
Of these the longest is that on the N; a two-compartment rectangular building (13.1m from E to W by 4.9m transversely over turf-covered stone wall-footings 1.2m thick). Immediately to the SSE there are the remains of a rectangular building (10.2m from N to S by 5.6m transversely over turf-covered stone wall-footings spread up to 1.2m thick) with an outshot on the S (3.1m from N to S by 6.8m trnasversely within a turf bank 0.7m thick); an upright boulder towards the N end of the building could be a backstone for a hearth. On the W there are the remains of a rectangular building measuring 9.2m from N to S by 4m transversely over turf-covered stone wall-footings 1.2m in thickness. Some 20m to the SW, on a slight rise, there are the remains of a turf-built hut (6.2m from N to S by 3.8m transversely overall).
The lands of Dalhenzean are on record in 1730 (Atholl Muniments) and the farmstead of Dalhingan is depicted by Roy (1747-55, sheet 18/4), as too by Stobie (1783), Ainslie (1794) and Blackadder (1825), where it appears to respect the Military Road.
