The location cited by Whittaker may be arbitrary, but is accepted. It falls within or near Urquhart Bay, on the NW side of Loch Ness, near its NE end. It falls within the centre of the loch, E of Urquhart Bay, and near the NE end of the loch.

It remains uncertain whether this vessel stranded or foundered.
