Archaeology Notes

NO36SW 49 NO 3210 6129

This drystone cairn, which is situated on the steep, NE shoulder of Cat Law, measures about 2m in diameter and rises to a pointed top at a height of 1.4m. It is composed almost entirely of white quartz blocks. The cairn is depicted on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map (Forfarshire 1865, sheet XXIV; 1902, sheet XXIV.SW).
