Archaeology Notes

NM48SW 32 42483 80444

A rough slipway, some 28m in length and between 3.5m and 3.9m across, has been cleared through the boulders littering the beach between the High and Low Water Marks in Port nam Maol, a small bay on the NW coast of Muck. The bay is named Port na Lice on the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map (Argyllshire, Island of Muck, 1880 and 1903, sheet lxxii).
