Archaeology Notes

NM48SW 30 42402 80431

There are at least three enclosures built into a vertical-sided gully that runs from NNW to SSE along the SW side of Port nam Maol. Two of them (and possibly a third) are situated at the S end of the gully (NM 42402 80431), and are formed by three stone walls cutting across the gully floor. The final enclosure lies to the N, where the gully opens out onto the storm beach to the N (NM 42381 80464); it is bisected by a stone wall that closes off the northern end of the gully.
